Celebrating the 2020 Lifetime Award Winners at City Hall

Sep. 15, 2021

The Ottawa Sports Awards proudly hosted the 2020 Lifetime Award winners for a special evening at City Hall on September 15.

In many ways it was a completely different Ottawa Sports Awards event: down from the over 600 guests that had attended each of the last three dinners to just 22 guests in attendance, including the organizing committee.

However, what remained the same was what has come to mark the Ottawa Sports Awards; the incredible gratitude shown by the City of Ottawa for the winners, respect for their achievements, and a sense of community.

With Mayor Jim Watson on hand to present the Mayor’s Cup to the Takahashi Family, and City Councillors Mathieu Fleury (Lowertown/Sandy Hill/Vanier) and Jean Cloutier (Alta Vista) presenting awards to residents of their wards, the intimate event was a wonderful chance to reflect on the careers of key members of the Ottawa sports community.
