Frequently Asked Questions

When and where is the banquet?

This year’s banquet is on Wednesday, February 8 at Centurion Conference & Event Center, 170 Colonnade Road South, in Nepean. Parking is complimentary.

The doors open for our reception at 6 p.m., while the dinner and awards start at 7 p.m. Dress code is business or work casual. Teams are encouraged to wear team jackets.

Who is entitled to a free ticket?

Athletes who are selected as the individual winners for the sports are entitled to one (1) free ticket.

Teams that are selected, that have won a championship in recognized sports in a recognized age category at the provincial or higher level are entitled to one (1) free ticket.

Individuals who are selected as winners of the Mayor’s Cup, or winners of one of the Lifetime Achievement awards, or winners of the Male and Female Athlete, Coach or Team of the Year are entitled to one (1) free ticket.

Can athletes or individuals be nominated if they have won in previous years?

For winners of the individual sports awards, we are looking to recognize the best athlete in that sport for the current calendar year. Therefore, athletes may be nominated and be selected as the winner in multiple years. The Team awards are based strictly on performance, i.e., winners at a championship at the Provincial or higher level within the year. Therefore teams that meet these criteria may be recognized in multiple years.

For the Athletes (Male and Female) of the Year, and Teams (Male and Female) of the Year, the winners are selected from the current year’s individual sports winners and team champions. They may win honours in multiple years.

Coaches (Male and Female) of the Year will be selected based on their performance during the year.
Lifetime Achievement Awards and the Mayor’s Cup are given to a recipient only one time.
