The Ottawa Sports Awards Organizing Committee is recruiting new members, both to assist with final projects for the 2025 Awards Dinner and in ongoing volunteer roles within our sport research and event planning team in preparation for 2026.

Graphic Designer/Communications Assistant – we are specifically looking for assistance to produce our 32-page event program which details winner achievements and the history of our awards. You would be working from an existing Adobe InDesign template, with a deadline of January 15. Possible honorarium available – to be discussed.
Videographer/Communications Assistant – we are specifically looking for assistance to film and edit four interview/profile style videos with our Lifetime Award winners. Examples of previous videos can be found on our YouTube Channel. Filming to take place at various locations during December and January, with final edits required by Feb 1. Possible honorarium available – to be discussed.
Sport Researcher – conduct research, review and assess nominations, and make award winner decisions based on fair, equitable, non-political, unbiased and objective criteria.
Secretary – availability to attend most meetings, record official minutes, maintain contact lists, and understand rules of voting, governance.
Operations Expert – knowledge of e-commerce, Google suite, and workflow to optimize sharing of information and files throughout the committee.
Social Media Monitor – use the Ottawa Sports Awards social media accounts to interact with relevant posts from followers and community members, sharing and commenting, gathering analytics and gleaning useful research information for sport researchers. Not directly responsible for creating content, but can contribute.
